CABLE LAYING OPERATION OFF PORT DICKSON

  1. Mariners are advised that submarine cable laying operations will be carried out at approximate position Lat 02-30.5 N Long 101-48.7 E off Port Dickson commencing 24 August 1998.These construction activities include :

    1. Installation of 20" and 10" pipelines from lay barge

    2. Trenching:- excavation and back filling of a trench between pipelines laid.

    3. Span Correction :- Diving operation to ensure the pipelines are supported sufficiently.

    4. CBM installation:- 6 point mooring system,including installation of anchor piles,clump weights,mooring buoys and CBM riser.

    5. PLEM installation:- PLEM positioning including piling and diving operations.

  1. Laybarge will have a total of nine anchors extending up to 700 metres which will be marked with yellow pennant marker buoys.The buoys will be fitted with a flashing light for demarkation at night.

  2. It is anticipated all operations will be completed by 31st Dec 1998.

  3. Mariners are requested to give a wide berth when in the vicinity and to all vessels engaged in the above operation.

  4. A chartlet showing the working area is attached.
