NEW LIGHT BEACONS ESTABLISHED-MALACCA STRAIT

Mariners are advised that new light beacons have been established in Malacca Strait as follows :-

a) Name : Tanjung Rhu

Position : Latitude 02°50.3 North

Longitude 101°17.0 East

Light Characteristic : Fl W 5s

Range : 15 n.m

Elevation : 24 m (above MHWS)

Structure : White round GRP tower on piled platform

Charts affected :- Mal 532

BA 2153,3453 and 3946 .

b) Name : Sungai Pontian Besar

Position : Latitude 01°30.3 North

Longitude 103°22.3 East

Light Characteristic : Fl.G.5s

Range : 5 n.m

Elevation : 10 m (above MHWS)

Structure : White column on piled platform

Charts affected :- Mal 515 and BA 3947

c) Name : Panjang Selatan

Position : Latitude 01°23.4 North

Longitude 103°07.4 East

Light Characteristic : Fl. W .5s

Range : 15 n.m

Elevation : 26 m (above MHWS)

Structure : White round GRP tower on piled platform.
